New Music Alert - Striking Matches - “Make a Liar Out of Me”
"Make a Liar Out of Me" by singer/songwriter duo known as Striking Matches was released last week on March 10. Striking Matches are signed to I.R.S. Nashville record label and, as you may of guessed, the two are a country rooted band. Although they are heavily influenced by the sounds of the south, it's a lie to say that that’s all there is to them! There are huge rock undertones in their songs, and “Make a Liar Out of Me” helps cement these two into the country-rock sound; they sail into the genre with ease. I’ve never been a huge country fan but I could listen to Striking Matches all day. Sarah Zimmerman’s voice has that gritty, raw quality to it that I just love, and Justin Davis’ vocals brings an additonal, contrasting tone. Together, the duo is on fire. They each bring just the right amount of what the other does not. Do yourself a favor and check ‘em out. Below is "Make a Liar Out Of Me," live at the Grand Ole Opry.
